Summer 2008 is Over

Great! My summer holiday is over without me realised about it. Three months passed just like that ever since I started enjoying my summer holiday end of last may and now I'm about to go through my normal routine back, which is my student life. Books, notes, assignments, and exercises are going to be my best mates in less than a week time, which I'm looking forward to it because I'm about to enter my final year in my degree. Am I already in my final year? Wow Unbelievable. It really flies so fast. That is why you have to treasure every seconds of times that you have in your life otherwise you might regret on how you have spent it. But whatever it is now there is no point of looking back at the past. Take the things in the past as something to be learnt and used its experienced as your preparation for the future. That is what I have to do now.

Anyway, there are lots of great things that I have done during my summer holiday. I'm not going to share all of them but I'm just going to share what I think I enjoyed the most. Some of them I've already mentioned it in my previous post so I'm just going to tell the things that I didn't have the chance to write it out.

I'm going to start with my Barcelona trip with my fellow friends from Glasgow. There were 11 of us that travel together. Me, Shuk, Aidil, Nizam, Nik, Apai, Haizal, Izati, Teera, Kak Ajarn, and Baby Hawa. I went to Barcelona on the 31st of May which was a week after my exams until 4th of June. It was a 5 days and 4 nights trip to Barcelona with 2 days spending on the travelling from and to Glasgow, and 3 full days in Barcelona. The flight from Glasgow was at 2pm on Saturday the 31st of May and we reach Girona Airport around 5.30pm local time where the flight journey was two and half hours. Then we took a bus "Barcelona Bus" from the airport which brings us directly to Barcelona city centre. We manage to catch the 6pm bus instead of 6.30pm since there were no problems at all with any of our luggage and also with the immigration. The bus journey was about 1 hour and 15 minutes and I played with Hawa during the whole journey.

People always said that make sure you take care of your belongings because there are lots of pick pocket in Barcelona and that is actually true, where as soon as we arrived Barcelona, someone was trying to take Aidil's wallet but luckily he realised that someone was trying to take his wallet. The person then straight away pretending to take his luggage but unfortunately he hold one of our luggage! Aidil took the bag straight away from his hand and the guy then just walked away like nothing is happening at all! So since that we all reminded each other not to put their wallet at their back pocket and for those who is holding a handbag, make sure you hold em tight.

We then headed straight to our apartment where we decided to walk instead of using a metro since it seems like it is within a walking distance. It supposed to be a 15 minutes walk but since we kind of get lost (not really lost but just went to the wrong direction), it took us about 45 minutes I think to get to the apartment. The apartment that we stayed was really closed by to "La Rambla". It is just 5 minutes walk! We reached the apartment at around 8.30pm local time and once we had settled out with everything, we then went out to have our dinner since we were too tired to cook that night. Well actually Kak Ajarn was the one who cooked for us both breakfast and dinner during our stay in Barcelona where we paid £5 each to Kak Ajarn for her to buy some food stuff to bring to Barcelona. Believe it or not we actually brought roti pratha, roti nan, chicken in to the flight! Anyway, we had paella for our first night. We ordered seafood paella. Other interesting places that I visited during my stay over there are Casa Mila-popularly known as 'La Padrera', built by Gaudi- one of the famous architects in Spain between 1906-1910, 'Antoni Gaudi's Casa Batllo', 'Placa d' Espanya', Anella Olimpica, Torre de Calatrava, Museum Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC)., Jardi Botanic, Palau Sant Jordi, Port Vell, Nou Camp, Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell, La Ramla, and other famous attraction in Barcelona.

Then it was my brother's graduation. Seriously I can't believe that my twin brother has graduated. He graduated on the Friday of 18th July 2008 which shows that he has completed another achievement in his life. He got 2.1 for his Degree in Computer Science. Mann I'm so proud of him. So I guess my turn will be next and I have to make sure that I'm going to do well with my Degree too. Please pray for me alright.

Both my mum and dad came to UK for his graduation. Mum was here for about 2 weeks while my dad was here for about a month. We went to Blackpool, Lake District, Manchester, Bradford, Glasgow and Isle of Skye during their stays here in UK. Lake District and Isle of Skye are amazing! The sceneries are magnificent and I really fall in love with its natural beauty that God has created. But I have to say that Isle of Skye is the best than Lake District. When I say that Isle of Skye is the best than Lake District, it means that Skye is more beautiful than Lake District. Seriously driving at Skye is also different where you will amaze with the scenery around there. No wonder people say that Scottish Highland is a must place to go if you are in UK.

Hmmm I think those were the only interesting things that I did during my summer holiday (including Camping at North Wales in my previous post). The rest of it was nothing much than just me going to my part time jobs and enjoying my time off. Also not to forget some 'makan-makan' activities around Glasgow hehehe.

Just a reminder, it is already half way through Ramadhan now. Have you been making full use of the month? You will regret it once it is over, crying wanting it to come back without knowing either you will be celebrate it the next time or not. InsyaAllah.

**Enjoy the pics too ^_^
