This picture was taken during raya open house at Wallace Street. Had a great time playing with these cute wee kids instead of makan2 hehe. Owh and some how i manage to make Zahra posed infront of the camera as it is very rare for her to make such faces!! Those who knows her might know what i'm talking about here hehe..
Havent got the time to uploads all the raya pictures that i have taken plus raya is still not over yet. So i guess i'll wait until i have enough pictures of it before i make a post about my experience of rayaing in Glasgow. Plus i have been very bust at the moment. Leaving home at 5.30am and come back around 8.30-9.00pm every day. Sigh...so tense and tiring. But then i still have to keep on moving as there are some people out there who believe that i can do it.and do i.
Owh ya..Mum, just wanna say thanks for the new laptop!! ^_^

SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI
Today, some cities in UK such as London, Bradford, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Dundee and etc are celebrating their Hari Raya Aidilfitri, while me in Glasgow here are still fasting. Strange. I don’t know why Glasgow doesn’t follow other cities. It has always been like this ever since I came to Glasgow as I never got the chances to celebrate raya the same day as my brother and sister. It has always been either I’m going to celebrate raya a day early or they are going to celebrate their raya a day early. Well I guess that is what they said the experience that you will get when celebrating raya diperantauan. But i will get to celebrate raya the same day as those who are in malaysia! ^_^
So which ever day that you all are going to celebrate, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI. Million apologise to all of you if there is any wrong doing that I’ve done before. I hope that you all are going to have a great raya as I have classes to attend on raya morning. Poor me right. But after my classes, I have tonnes of list of houses that I can go to hehehe. So kuih raya is still there for me to grab it :p
Anyway, maaf zahir dan batin
^_^

My classes for this new semester in 4th year have already started. It was a very hectic start as I straight away have an essay and an exercise to do and need to submit it. Handed in one of it just now and another one is due tomorrow, which is the essay. It is not a long essay. I just have to write some introduction of my design project (group project) which is “Severn barrage feasibility design”. So I guess I’m alright though. I have been in university since 9am till 6pm all day since last Monday as I’m trying to finish off all the works given to me as soon as I can so that I can concentrate on my final year project.
I have to prepare my experiment programme for my final year project, which I only have a week time to submit to my supervisor before I can start doing the experiment. This is because there are several experiments than need to be done, and most of it takes quite a long time to do. I just had a brief introduction about what I am going to do about my project and what am I expected to know in order to run it. I have got all, well, almost all reading materials that would help me to understand the project better. So I guess I wouldn’t have that much free time this year as the time that I have is really short and I have to make full use of it. I just need to sacrifice this 22 academic weeks and after that I can do whatever that I want!
What a stressful beginning of my final year!
current mood-----> stress

Great! My summer holiday is over without me realised about it. Three months passed just like that ever since I started enjoying my summer holiday end of last may and now I'm about to go through my normal routine back, which is my student life. Books, notes, assignments, and exercises are going to be my best mates in less than a week time, which I'm looking forward to it because I'm about to enter my final year in my degree. Am I already in my final year? Wow Unbelievable. It really flies so fast. That is why you have to treasure every seconds of times that you have in your life otherwise you might regret on how you have spent it. But whatever it is now there is no point of looking back at the past. Take the things in the past as something to be learnt and used its experienced as your preparation for the future. That is what I have to do now.
Anyway, there are lots of great things that I have done during my summer holiday. I'm not going to share all of them but I'm just going to share what I think I enjoyed the most. Some of them I've already mentioned it in my previous post so I'm just going to tell the things that I didn't have the chance to write it out.
I'm going to start with my Barcelona trip with my fellow friends from Glasgow. There were 11 of us that travel together. Me, Shuk, Aidil, Nizam, Nik, Apai, Haizal, Izati, Teera, Kak Ajarn, and Baby Hawa. I went to Barcelona on the 31st of May which was a week after my exams until 4th of June. It was a 5 days and 4 nights trip to Barcelona with 2 days spending on the travelling from and to Glasgow, and 3 full days in Barcelona. The flight from Glasgow was at 2pm on Saturday the 31st of May and we reach Girona Airport around 5.30pm local time where the flight journey was two and half hours. Then we took a bus "Barcelona Bus" from the airport which brings us directly to Barcelona city centre. We manage to catch the 6pm bus instead of 6.30pm since there were no problems at all with any of our luggage and also with the immigration. The bus journey was about 1 hour and 15 minutes and I played with Hawa during the whole journey.
People always said that make sure you take care of your belongings because there are lots of pick pocket in Barcelona and that is actually true, where as soon as we arrived Barcelona, someone was trying to take Aidil's wallet but luckily he realised that someone was trying to take his wallet. The person then straight away pretending to take his luggage but unfortunately he hold one of our luggage! Aidil took the bag straight away from his hand and the guy then just walked away like nothing is happening at all! So since that we all reminded each other not to put their wallet at their back pocket and for those who is holding a handbag, make sure you hold em tight.
We then headed straight to our apartment where we decided to walk instead of using a metro since it seems like it is within a walking distance. It supposed to be a 15 minutes walk but since we kind of get lost (not really lost but just went to the wrong direction), it took us about 45 minutes I think to get to the apartment. The apartment that we stayed was really closed by to "La Rambla". It is just 5 minutes walk! We reached the apartment at around 8.30pm local time and once we had settled out with everything, we then went out to have our dinner since we were too tired to cook that night. Well actually Kak Ajarn was the one who cooked for us both breakfast and dinner during our stay in Barcelona where we paid £5 each to Kak Ajarn for her to buy some food stuff to bring to Barcelona. Believe it or not we actually brought roti pratha, roti nan, chicken in to the flight! Anyway, we had paella for our first night. We ordered seafood paella. Other interesting places that I visited during my stay over there are Casa Mila-popularly known as 'La Padrera', built by Gaudi- one of the famous architects in Spain between 1906-1910, 'Antoni Gaudi's Casa Batllo', 'Placa d' Espanya', Anella Olimpica, Torre de Calatrava, Museum Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC)., Jardi Botanic, Palau Sant Jordi, Port Vell, Nou Camp, Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell, La Ramla, and other famous attraction in Barcelona.

Then it was my brother's graduation. Seriously I can't believe that my twin brother has graduated. He graduated on the Friday of 18th July 2008 which shows that he has completed another achievement in his life. He got 2.1 for his Degree in Computer Science. Mann I'm so proud of him. So I guess my turn will be next and I have to make sure that I'm going to do well with my Degree too. Please pray for me alright.
Both my mum and dad came to UK for his graduation. Mum was here for about 2 weeks while my dad was here for about a month. We went to Blackpool, Lake District, Manchester, Bradford, Glasgow and Isle of Skye during their stays here in UK. Lake District and Isle of Skye are amazing! The sceneries are magnificent and I really fall in love with its natural beauty that God has created. But I have to say that Isle of Skye is the best than Lake District. When I say that Isle of Skye is the best than Lake District, it means that Skye is more beautiful than Lake District. Seriously driving at Skye is also different where you will amaze with the scenery around there. No wonder people say that Scottish Highland is a must place to go if you are in UK.

Hmmm I think those were the only interesting things that I did during my summer holiday (including Camping at North Wales in my previous post). The rest of it was nothing much than just me going to my part time jobs and enjoying my time off. Also not to forget some 'makan-makan' activities around Glasgow hehehe.
Just a reminder, it is already half way through Ramadhan now. Have you been making full use of the month? You will regret it once it is over, crying wanting it to come back without knowing either you will be celebrate it the next time or not. InsyaAllah.
**Enjoy the pics too ^_^

I made it!!! I cant believe that I actually made it! Yes I made my own Apam Balik after I have been craving wanting it so much that I just couldn’t resist the temptation to eat it. So I went on to the internet to look for the recipe and somehow I manage to fount it. It looks very easy and simple to make it and you don’t need that much ingredients too. I then went to the kitchen and opened up all my cupboards to see if I have any of those. Wicked! I actually have most of the ingredients that I need and only need to buy 2 more ingredients for me to make apam balik. But as usual, I have this mentality that stop me from continue making it as I’m afraid that it might not going to turn up as it is and I might going to waste the ingredients. But then my friend said to me that if I’m not going to try it then I will never be able to make it. He then gave me another website of apam balik recipe which is a lot easier to make than the website that I found. Well there are not that much different from both websites though. Just that this website have better presentation that made me comfortable to follow.
I then straight away went to Somerfield to get the remaining ingredients that I need. Got all of them. So I follow all the procedure carefully and managed to do it! It just that it doesn’t have the look of apam balik and more like a pan cake. Maybe because of the frying pan that I’m using is not suitable to make it but the taste is exactly the same! So I didn’t got to the mosque to break my fast and had my apam balik for it and also for my dinner hehehe.. ^_^

The kacang..bahan taburan. Gagal untuk dihaluskan kecik2.

Pour it on the frying fan...see it looks like pancake right?

Then put all the bahan taburan together...

TADAA!!!!!!...there you go my 1st attempt on Apam Balik hehehe ^_^

Here are the ingredients to make Apam Balik. Just thought of sharing it so that you all can have a go at it too..Enjoy!!
2 cawan tepung gandum ½ cawan gula ½ camca kecil soda bikarbonat 1 camca kecil pewarna kuning 1 biji telur 1 ½ cawan air |
½ camca kecil baking powder 1 cawan kacang tanah (dimesin)- bahan tabur 1 tin jagung - bahan tabur 1 cawan gula - bahan tabur Sedikit mentega |
| Cara: |
Mesin gula bersama telur hingga kembang, masukkan soda, air, baking powder dan pewarna kuning. Mesin lagi hingga sebati. Masukkan tepung dan mesin lagi supaya ianya tidak bergentel. Ambil satu senduk dan tuangkan ke dalam kuali kemudian nipiskan. Tutup kuali sebentar. Apabila setengah masak, taburkan bahan taburan tadi. Masaklah hingga kekuningan.
